FORM FOR ADDITIONAL SPOUSE
(NO CHILDREN)

This form is designed to be used for the submission of information to be added to either 1) information being submitted via the NEW PERSON Form or 2) an existing worksheet. In both instances, the contents of this submission will be added to a worksheet in the Giering Family Genealogy data holdings. The form is organized similar to the additional spouse portion of the worksheet. It is assumed that persons using this form are familiar with the worksheets that are either augmented or created from/by its contents.

One additional spouse may be added with this form. If more than one spouse needs to be added, use this form repetitiously.

We refer to the primary person for the family for which the information is being submitted as the "Principal". A second person - of the same generation - associated with the family (whether married or not) described herein is referred to in this form as the "Spouse".

Please note that the Principal is ALWAYS the person in the direct Giering Family Line. That person MAY or MAY NOT have the Giering surname.

There is certain information that is needed to assure that the information being submitted is added correctly. This includes identifying the submitter and the Principal for the family to whom the spouse belongs.

Now that we've identified both you and the principal person for whom the spouse is to be reported, it is time to give the information on the spouse or at least the amount of information that is available. If the requested information is unknown, leave the item blank.

The information that we will be requesting includes the spouse's parents (including their identification number - which applies ONLY in instances where the spouse and the Principal are both in the Giering line). We also request information on the Spouse/Principal relationship including Date and Place of both Marriage and Divorce, if applicable. If the "spouse" is/was not married to the Principal, write in the phrase "Not Married" for the Date of marriage and if there was no divorce, leave that information blank. For the spouse himself/herself we need the names and the normal statistics. A note is included on what the "spouse number" means. Chronologically when a person has multiple spouses, they are thought of as the first spouse, the second spouse, third spouse and so on. The first spouse is ALWAYS included on the basic form. This form is used to add subsequent spouses: the second, the third, the fourth, etc. This is the "spouse number".
