She retired in 1992 as youth secretary at the City Rescue Mission. She was also youth director At Second Presbyterian Church. She was a 1938 graduate of New Castle High School. She was a member of Evangel Community Church and taught Sunday School at New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church. She was survived by daughter, Bette Jane Hockenberry, and 5 sons, Ronald H, Robert E, Thomas L. William H. And Richard R. Strobel. 14 grandchildren and 25 greqt grandchildren.
