FUNERAL NOTES:
The following is quated from the Coopersburg Moravian Church records, page 248 as found at the Moravian Archives:

Shaw, Mrs Maria, The eldest daughter of Joel Ritter and Rebecca M (m.n.Giering), his wife born at Bethlehem , Pa., Feb 2, 1859. Received into the communicant fellowshipof the Moravian Church of Coopersburg, Pa., Apr 2, 1885, by letter from the Lutheran denomination, married to Milton Shaw of Philadelphia in 1888, departed this life on the 12th day of September 1899 after a brief illness of but a part of two days. The deceased was a constant sufferer fom diabetes for a number of years and this was the cause of her death. The funeral services were conducted in part at the home of the deceased's Father, Bro Joel Ritter of this place and completed in the Moravian chapel at Emmaus, Pa. Rev S. H. Gapp assisted the pastor in the German language. Interment in the Moravian Cemetery at Emmaus. An only son of about 10 years of age survives her. Interment took place Saturday afternoon, Sep 16, 1899.
