The following appeared in the SanFrancisco, Ca. Chronicle, Feb 27, 1940: GIERING, In this city, February 24, 1940, Earnest A., beloved brother of Harold E. Giering. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 28, at 10:30 o'clock a.m. at the mortuary of Halsted & Co., 1128 Sutter St., near Polk.

The following appeared on Page 10, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Sat March 9, 1901: ALBERT E. GIERING DEAD Well-Known Seattle Jeweler Suc- cumbs to Pneumonia--Funeral to be held tomorrow. A. E. Giering, a watchmaker and Jeweler, who has been a residentof this city for eighteen years, died at his residence, 127 Nineteenth avenue, yesterday, aged 47 years. Deceased leaves a widow and three children, aged 4, 6 and 7 years. Albert Edward Giering was one of the best known men in his trade in this city. He came here from Pennsylvania in 1882 and for a time was engaged in business for himself. His store was burned in the great fire of 1889, since which time he had been employed by various local jewelers. He was working when siezed by his fatal illinois for Frisch Brothers. Mr Giering was a charter member of Lodge No. 69, Woodmen of the World, and of the A. O. U. W. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from Elks hall, under the auspices of the orders named.
